Libby Callister’s leadership as part of the GOLDOC Engagement Team was exceptional. In particular Libby’s work with a variety of stakeholders associated with the development and implementation of the Currumbin Community Engagement Strategy was a great success. Dealing with a community anxious about the impacts of the Commonwealth Games road cycling and walks events required an understanding of the many sensitivities in play.
The enormity of conducting the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games for the first time in a Regional City presented many communication challenges across many Partners. The Currumbin project required Libby to work closely with the City of Gold Coast, the Business Advisory Group and to develop a Community Strategy to deal with a lot of misinformation within the Community.
Libby’s professional approach, empathy and ability to lead at the same time as being a team member were of the highest order. Her focus on addressing the key issues to achieve a positive outcome never waivered when others were distracted by different political motivations – a key success in itself. Always approachable with great listening ability Libby was a key staff member.
I love the article and great coverage thanks so much.
